Five Favorite Books

I guess being a bookworm comes with the whole writer thing. πŸ˜‰ Today I’m talking (read: gushing) about five of my favorite books. Hope you enjoy!

That said, what are some of your favorite books — and what do you love about them? (Because my TBR pile may be rivaling the Eiffel Tower, but it’s not tall enough yet.) πŸ˜‰

Shalom!

  1. You mean, aside from my own, of course. LOL

You know I love J.R.R. Tolkien’s writings. All of them. They’e exciting and give you an escape from the reality of what’s going on around you. Then there’s Jane Austen’s books. I’ve loved all of the most popular ones, except for Mansfield Park. The period of time is what I love the most. I guess the classics represent beautiful writing to me. Jane Eyre, Wurthering Heights.

The more recent offerings by a variety of authors are good, but those classics are special. Writers were more into presenting the story and not all the grammar specifics (Do this, don’t do that) that we current writers have to wade through. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy many of the new writers. Timeless Moments by Michelle Kidd is one of my favorites from today, and Stephanie McKean’s Pirate Hole Murders and Bridge to Brigadoon were wonderful reads for me. Then there are some of Jeff Salter’s stories. Stuck on Cloud Eight was a delight.

    1. You’re right — there’s something special about the classics. (Jane Austen is always a fave.) πŸ˜€ And I’ll read Tolkien one of these days; gotta get through Ivanhoe first. πŸ˜‰

Hmm, I haven’t heard of Michelle Kidd or Stephanie McKean. I’ll be checking them out! πŸ™‚

  2. I have the Viking Quest series too! πŸ™‚

Someone else recommended Sir Malcolm and the Missing Prince to me before. I’m gonna have to try it now. Thanks!

One of my favorite series is War of the Realms by Chuck Black. It’s speculative fiction on spiritual warfare that’s thought-provoking while being chock full of action.

    1. Mikkel might be my favorite, but the whole Viking Quest cast is great. πŸ˜‰
      Hope you enjoy Sir Malcolm!

I feel like I’ve heard of War of the Realms… I’ll have to check it out! πŸ™‚
